SOMETIMES YOU WANT TO BE LOUD!!!
E-Muscle is now the official installer of Waldron's Antique Exhaust for New England.
THE HISTORY:
For a brief period in 1969 & 1970, GTO buyers were able to purchase an option known as "Vacuum Operated Exhaust". It was one of the industry's coolest options; dual-mode mufflers - controlled by the driver - that could be operated in "Quiet" or "Tiger" (open) modes. Waldron’s is an American company that has served the car hobby for over 45 years. They produce exhaust components and systems for nearly all domestic passenger cars and light trucks produced from the early 1900’s through the 1980’s.
HOW THEY WORK:
An internal valve regulates the exhaust flow. In the OPEN position, exhaust flows straight through the muffler creating peak performance and throaty sound. In the QUIET mode, the exhaust gases are forced to flow through a different path that provides significant quieting for a comfortable, resonance-free ride. The valve is controlled by a vacuum control circuit that mounts to the dashboard.
